I have a 1977 johnson 75hp stinger and I noticed oil leaking around the 2 screws on the lower unit. The oil is completely black so doesn't look milky or anything. Are there supposed to be rubber seals or something under the screws? Maybe they need replaced? What should I start with?

Also I'm sure the ratio for oil is 50:1 is there a certain kind of 2 stroke oil I should be getting?

The link that the bulb on the motor sits into for steering won't stay in the adapter. Whenever you turn the steering wheel too far one way it pops out. Is it because the motor isn't trimmed down? And what is this part called if it needs replaced?

Just got this boat for $450. The floor seems sturdy can't really find any soft spots. Motor starts up and runs good. Shifts fine. Don't have any better pics right now but do you guys think I paid too much.?

Picked up a new starter and just noticed it doesn't have the bolt sticking up out of the starter that the nut threads into to hold it onto the support bracket. Is this bracket needed or will it be fine without it? It's on the right side of the s terminal

When I turn the key you can hear the starter revving up but it's not engaging with the flywheel at all. No grinding noise. Took starter off had it tested at autozone and it pushes out just fine like it should. Is my flywheel or the gears on the starter bad? Purchased a new starter should be here...
