    bad acceleration

    1990 johnson 175 I have an intermittent problem with acceleration, motor cuts out when trying to get boat on plane. I also have problem blipping throttle to get boat up on trailer. All is fine running on a hose, blip throttle, power is good. Blip throttle in water, motor dies.

    fast idle

    1990 175 gt --------- Finally got it started, previously had no spark, not sure why it started, but now it idles at 15-1800. It used to run like this for a few minutes then drop down, but today ran for 15 minutes and never slowed. Ideas?

    1990 Johnson 175 gt---- Could not start this weekend. Used WD 40 in carb--this helped once before, pulled plugs, very wet. Turned over motor saw no spark, should I have seen one even though plug still wet? Attached volt meter red to spark plug boot, black to ground, turned over--nothing. How do...
