    I got a Yamaha electric starter on eBay (new) but it doesn't show how to connect the electrical cables

    I did test out and am 99% certain that it's the relay that was bad before I used it. It only goes "on & off" with a short push, but if it stays on for a few seconds it stays on and it seems to occasionally go on even when the button isn't pushed. I am going to try to find a good relay locally...

    It's a 9.9 4-stroke, looks like the model is F9.9LMHB. And I am wondering if the relay is getting kind of funky, but I can't wonder how it would go "on" when the power circuity to it is off. Any thoughts on that? But thanks for all your help on this.

    I'll be doing some more this morning (checking compression as part of it) and getting a new "spare" fuel supply (tank, hose, new filter) which will be good to have as I only have one 3 gallon tank. Will update what happens.
