Yes I can see how it is easy to make a mistake. Here they charge $130 per hour and they quoted the job at $1000. Also my boat would still be waiting to get completed. They are 3 weeks behind right now.
Yes it is the drive shaft bellows. I guess I must have raised it too high? Yes,I did use the adhesive. The top of the bellows is still connected. I have added some adhesive and reconnected it. Fingers crossed it holds.
I went out once after all the work was done and I have no issue. However I was careful not to raise the motor too high as it was cooler out and I thought it would be better to wait to go full trailer height till it was warmer out. Fast forward to ride #2 when my son raised the motor to its max...

Yes, however the retaining clip had a crack in it underneath the one bolt. There were 2 bolts and it was tight
