Help...I can't get lower unit back on 5hp Nissan 4 stroke

The title says it all. I took the lower unit off and changed the water pump with no problems. Now I can't get the splines back in. I've done this with many other engines and never had issues. Is there something special to be done to get the unit back on? I have a manual and it has the same...

    Car Tires for Towing?

In another thread Shorelander Trailers was used as a reference for ensuring the correct car tires were used on a trailer. That info was given with an implication (to me anyway)they endorsed the practice. Here's a no BS clarification.

I received a Shorelander's catalog in the mail...

    2 Strokes And The Bahamas

During a quick 150 mile run through the Abacos, Bahamas last week I took notes on what motors the locals used. This is rugged territory and locals use obs for transportation like we use cars...but breakdowns can be hazardous to your health in the islands. Also, nobody flushs engines there...

OMC Rectifier - hooked batt up backwards

OOPS, another senior moment...I hooked up my batt on the wrong terminals and pulled it back off. Full juice got to the engine for a few seconds. Can't detect a problem and the motor runs fine. Did the rectifier or anything else get damaged? Engine is a 91 omc 65hp johnson commercial (same as the...

    Carb part # 434159

Believed to be 1991 carbs off a 65hp omc commercial...434159 is stamped on each carb. I can't find these numbers referenced for carb kits. Anyone know the difference between these and regular carbs off a 1991 70hp "domestic" version or which rebuild kits will work?

Thanks,
Bill

Do Yamaha 150 4 strokes have any major problems?

A friend of mine just plunked down a deposit for twin Yamaha 150 4 strokes for his new 25' Bluewater CC. After reading MANY posts from guys all over the web about 115 Yamahas "making oil" I'm wondering if the 150s have any issues. He typically trolls 4-6 hrs for every 1 hr of high speed...
