I have a 1980 OMC 800 leg, I used 'type c' gear oil in the lower leg. I was since told that oil was for electric shift, I do not believe I have electric shift. is it still ok to use that style oil or should i drain it and use reg gear oil?
When I put the boat into gear it stalls out, I was told there was a ignition interuptor for mercurys that can be adjusted. is there one on the OMCs as well? and if so how do I adjust it?
I took my 25' appollo out last week end, and after running 3500 rmp for a hour and a half, it stuttered and lost power. I changed the fuel filter and checked plug wires, it started up ran good for five minutes and lost power again. It idles great but does not have the power to plane? I was able...
Does any one have any fixes for a 8000 OMC leg that sticks in the down position? I can loosen the three bolts on the gear to tilt it back up, but no fun doing this every time.
Just took the maden run with my 1980 305 omc,8000 leg. Truble with leg not tilting up, loosened bolts on gears and it came up, any tips on how to prevent this from happening? as well any other tips for new owner?
