I removed the flywheel to replace the points, condensers and coils, but I am having trouble aligning the flywheel with the key. Is there a particular way the key has to be in on the shaft? I do see 2 marks on 1 side of the key.

Can anyone please help me find the timing marks? I see the 2 marks on the mag plate, but I can not seem to find the marks on the flywheel. any help appreciated. I just replaced the points, condensers and coils and need to make sure its timed properly.

Can I use standard plug wires for a tractor? the local farm supply store sells wire kits for a 4cyl tractor for $12. Also does it matter if I use 7mm or 8mm wire? I have a 56evinrude 30hp I want to replace wires on.

Does anyone know where to get inexpensive replacement ignition wire? I want to replace mine on my 56 evinrude 30hp. I can get the wire, but the boot ends and clips i can not seem to find. The local autoparts stores you have to by a whole kit which is expensive.

Could anyone tell me what spark plugs they use in 73 evinrude 18hp motor? It has Champion J17lmin it right now. Runs ok, but I think these are the wrong plugs for it. NGK or Champion?
