I have no spark on coil#3 (bottom). I replaced it and that did not solve the problem. I looked at my manual (seloc online) and it has 6 tests which cover the ignition parts, (I have a TYPE V - CAPACITOR DISCHARGE (CD) FLYWHEEL MAGNETO SYSTEM), but most all of them require the Stevens S-80or M-80...
I inherited a 1972 johnson 65hp outboard and tried to put it in the water and it started and seemed to run fine until I tried to give it some gas. When I cranked the throttle all the way forward the motor sounded likt it was at 1/4 throttle! NO power at all. This is what I did:
