I have a chance to pick up this boat and am wondering if it might be a good one to restore. Comes with an evinrude 18, and trailer. Hasn't been on the water since 1980. THe floor is out but looks fairly complete. How deep am I getting myself in? I have the time as I am retired and have...
The prop on this motor doesnt seem to be at a 9.25 diameter. When I measure, it seems to show 8.25. What is the proper way to measure the diameter? From what I can tell the original is suppose to be a 9.25 diam with a 7" pitch. Part # 012102. Any help would be great as the old one is a bit...
Have a 1960 18 fastwin and need to find the rubber grip on the pull cord. It's blue originally and a part not listed as being there. Anyone point me in the right direction? Model 15032. Tanks in advance,

Hi All,
I have a 1960 18 hp Evinrude Fastwin that came with a 6 gal tank of the same vintage I suspect. It is a "cruise a day" Evinrude vented tank with the 2 large prongs and 2 small pins. It has gas coming out of the moveable pin with the brass bushing. I have read how to drill out the caps...
Looks like I could use one of 3 maybe. Scotchweld 847 ($22) -- Permatex, "the right stuff" ($16)---permatex aviation gasket cement ($6). I What do you think?
THis motor hasn't run in decades. I changed the water pump and gas lines (first time for me), mixed a 24:1 ratio and presto, she fired up and ran well, very well. The shroud is an 8.5 out of 10 and the motor was used untill 1970, and then only a few times. I don't think any one looked at this...
I've ordered a new OEM impeller for my 1960 18hp fastwin. Do I need a new gasket for the lower housing or will "the right stuff" work to seal it up. Never changed one yet so am waiting for a manual as well. Thanks in advance,

Maybe someone could direct me to the fuel line sizes under the shroud of model 15032 Evinrude 1960 fastwin 18hp. Hard to tell as they are original. Looks like 2 sizes. Can I get them at the local auto parts store too? Thanks in advance
My first post here, so bear with me. Found an older Chriscraft with a 1960 Evinrude 18 Fastwin. Hasn't been started since '99 but kept in basement. A fresh water motor that looks really nice, but haven't had cover off yet and am going to meet the owner and try and start it tomorrow. I...
