I just upgraded my motor from a 20hp to a 50 hp on a 16ft tri-hull. I'm dying to see how it will do but I have a few small things left to finish up. How do you guys think it will perform as far as speed and payload increases. The old motor wouldn't even get it up on plane with 2 people in it.
I have a broken cowl support bracket and don't know how to fix it. I would just weld it but it apears to be aluminum. Its the rear one that is over the spark plugs. The part is obsolete so I can't buy a new one. Anyone have any ideas besides ebay. Thanks.

I just switched out the engine on my boat and need to replace the ignition switch as well. The motor is a 89 50hp merc. I guess I just need to know what type and how many terminals on the switch. Not sure if this is enough info. Thanks for the help.

89' 50hp merc overheated and burned off some wires. One was the temp sensore wire that seems to be an easy fix. But another was a small wire right next to the number one spark plug hooked directly into the block. I have no clue what this one is and how to fix it. Anyone have any ideas. Thanks.
