I"ve got a 88' 5.7 Cobra that I had hauled out for bottom paint.
While in the yard I replaced the lower unit and the impeller.
Took it out and after about 3 min. the temp. guage crept up to 200 then 250.
I also smelled some fresh rubber.
turned around and shut it off and tied it up.
My risers...
Can the lower unit of an OMC Corba stern drive be removed without pulling off the entire outdrive?
Is there a way to rotate the shift rod or unscrew it from the detent lever?
I'm about to purchase a K&N flame arrestor,<br />#692-59-3370.<br />It is 6 3/4" height x 9" diameter.<br />I just recently read on another website forum that this one isn't stamped, coast guard approved.<br />(I'm assuming because of the height)<br />Another guy says all K&N's are approved...
