    1999 50 kill switch

    The kill switch in the side mount control box is bad. I jiggled it and the boat started jiggled it again no fire. How do I dissable it from the motor without taking the box apart?

    Grounding plugs to test compression

    My 35 johnson kill switch is inoperative...so to test compression I have to ground each plug seperatly or all together? Plugs in boot ..each plug grouned seperatly oor together? What will happe if I do not ground the plugs? Thanks

    merc 850 overheat problem found

    Pulled my powerhead to check the exhaust divider plate..looked new ..found that the midsection gasket was leakin exhaust into the water jacket..causing a steaming condition out the pee tube!

    Mercury 850 normal head temps

    Looking for input on what is a normal head temp for a freshly rebuilt 1975 merc 850! I have taken readings in a barrel of constant 80 degree water...new water pump complete! Cyl 1-160 cyl 2-150 cyl-3 140 cyl 4 120 These temps are after 10-12 minutes. Tell-tale temp..135. Has anyone else...
