    Definitely a little milky as the seals need replacing (not shiny/metalic) but was really hoping to adjust the shifter first before tearing the lower end apart for the seals. Some sites show certain parts for this motor as not available, so I'm aiming to make sure the gears will work properly...

    Evening folks, I have a 1984 8HP Evinrude (E8RCRM) that I could use some assistance with. The engine goes into forward and runs along just fine (even feels like a bit too far in gear if that makes sense). However, when I put it in reverse, the prop doesn't spin very much, hardly moves the boat...

    Omc 800 Sterndrive Tilt Tension

    On an 1985 OMC 800 Sterndrive, I read there was a way to adjust the tension on the tilt clutch so the outdrive doesn't drop during transport, etc.. anyone know the procedure for this and the location of the adjustment screw? Thanks in Advance Bugs

    Thanks for the info. Been to sterndrive.info.. good site for parts breakdowns and such. Didn't know about the iboats forums until I went hunting for a wiring diagram for the engine. This boat is just something to tinker with over the winter.. maybe do a bit of fishing next year, etc. Thanks...
