I just bought a 1986 bass tracker with an 35 HP mercury engine. Was told the battery was bad and the starter wires just need to be hooked up. Put on a freshly charged battery,reattached the starter wires, and BOOM nothing happens. Not a click of the choke, wont turn over. I jumped the starter...
