    I guess continue to search for an ECM I don’t know how you would get spark without a distributor Seems like it would be more work to go that route

    Thanks for the response but I’m certain the ecm is the problem as the boat sank in salt water and the internals of the ecm are extremely corroded. I had the engine rebuilt and ran the boat for about a month with no issues then all these crazy symptoms started that lead me to the ecm I cracked it...

    Currently looking for an ecm for a Volvo Penta 8.1 GI-H # 3885461 anyone have any leads or suggestions on where to find a new or used one or a unit that will cross over thanks.Dave
