curious as to the two designs and which performs better? im referring to the earlier vp/omc style with one hose to carb brake vac port vs two breathers going to arrestor on merc system..
hi - this is an older i6, but no lockout - has a newer style pump with adapters to convert from the early style at the pump, however all the diagrams i found go via the rev lockout- could not find a matching gray hose in the same length as the black. I did find a set of lines at the shop that...
All i seem to find is the 29" versions to the lockout valve, but i would like both hoses the same length - inline 6 with the trim pump mounted on the stbd side of the block..
For the black I have 32-59841 but not 100% sure what part number for the gray hose. fwiw this is the smaller (old) style...
hi thanks found the correct tstat part and ordered - HE is completely blocked, i flushed the raw side but the closed side is completely filled with rust -
Converting to raw as engine is old and not worth dumping $ into - suspecting HE blockage. Planning to put in large 2" hose from raw pump OUT to tstat IN and bypass the HE entirely. just not sure if the closed tstat housing differs from raw tstat housing - seemed to recall a bypass variance but...
Just found this on another thread which confirms my suspicions someone messed up the wiring -
"OK well something is screwed up:confused:. The purple white wire in the back should come from the control handle trim up switch,"...
Have a 2000 maxum with twin controls. I know HOW trim wires work, but I cannot explain why the pur/wh limit switch bullet wire at the transom is connected to the TRAILER switch up front? Makes no sense. Surely the trailer switch pur/wh should be a power source and NOT the same as the pur/wh at...
Hi - been

Hi - working on a v115 here 1975 V4.
Can not figure out how to assemble the springs and bits. can someone post a diagram or decent photo showing how they go together? online diagrams seem useless -
thanks
I would imagine the seal would be double lip correct? When i removed the seal it only had one inward facing lip meaning the crankcase could potentially suck air.
I have run new extra grounds - no change Also removed sanded greased all surfaces and connectors - no change. ITS NOT THE GROUNDS...
motor is def running on all 4- ive been analyzing the ignition graphs on each to look for oddities.. replaced all 4 carbs with oem ones yesterday - same issue. When i tried the open gap tester one of the fairly new sierra coils arc'd right thru the coil body to ground, and this was on a 1/2 gap-...
plugs good yes - i have an ignition analyzer with a graph and they all are kinda stable... but when it drops its not all the way down, like the whole system takes a hit, and its very all over the place.. shocks at the pack, dunno... been fiddling for hours, im trying to learn more than...
