I've got a weird timing issue where the timing retards about 10 degrees on my 97 alpha 1 gen 2.
This occurs from idle to about 2K RPM. Then the timing advances again (but never really makes it up past 20 degrees or so).
I don't think this model has the knock sensor, just the basic ignition...
I'm new to the forums and new to mercruiser products (traded in my old OMC 2.3L POS for a nice 1997 4.3L A1 GenII Sea Ray).
I've been able to find and obtain the outdrive manual in PDF format, but I'm not having any luck with service manual 18.
