So I finally was able to take some pictures. The on in it’s side is a two wire pump, which is what I had on my motor. The new transom assembly I purchased on eBay came with a 3 wire and it looks brand new. I want to use the new. I’m assuming the third wire is just a ground.
I ended up ordering a .020 kit from WSM. I remember reading somewhere but can’t find it, that milling the head .065 and mill exhaust will help improve flow. Block is at machine shop and they are also chamfering the intake and exhaust ports.
Anything else I should do to block?
The main steering pivot shaft had froze. In order to replace it the power head needs to be removed.
Crank looks fine but figured if the block is going to shop maybe have them look at it.
No noticeable ridge at top of bore. Maybe catch a little with my nail.
So my winter project was to replace the frozen pivot arm. Since I had to pull power head off, I decided to disassemble and perform a power head service. I found cylinder number 1 piston skirt to be scored. The cylinder wall has no grooves though.
My plan is to order a WSM rebuild kit .10 over...
So this winters project is a tare down of my 90 hp since the swivel pin froze completely. Now I found a clean fresh water pin and transom assembly. My questions is, my trim pump is the 2 wire round style pump. The used very clean one I bought is the 3 wire square style.
Which one do you guys...
Looking to put a motor on my hard bottom 10foot Achilles inflatable. I’m leaning toward suzuki because they seem to be taking over market. Any opinions? Thanks
Agreed, All the parts you mentioned is about $1,000.00 not sure if its worth putting into this motor. It runs great, good compression, electronics are not cracked or heat soaked.
Yes it is. I'll take a look thanks
I was easy with the heat because of worries on melting bushings. There are a total of 8 zerks on the bracket. So I’m assuming someone has been at it before I bought the boat. The bottom of king pin is rotted as well and retaining ring is sitting on lower...
