Yamaha 1997 200 SWS II oversize pistons

I blew a powerhead on my 1997 200 SWS II TXRV engine. I removed the powerhead and found out it was previously rebuilt. I'm not sure if it can be rebuilt again. Does anyone know the diameters of the first and second oversize pistons?

1997 Yamaha 200 TXRV carb - blown powerhead

I blew the powerhead on a 1997 Yamaha 200 TXRV carbed engine. There's a hole in the lower right piston (as looking at the heads) that is typical of a lean failure. I'm going to rebuild it but of course want to correct what caused the lean condition. I pull the powerhead and notice that the...

1998 Yamaha 200 SWS II -Overheat- buy?

I've come across a 1998 Yamaha 200 SWS II that I'm considering buying but the owner says it has a tendency to overheat at WOT. The water pump and thermostats have been replaced. The engine is overpropped. It only hits 4800-5000 at WOT. I've done some research and have found that the cooling...

1997 200 HP SWSII Drive shaft seals.

I'm replacing the water pump and also intend to replace the two drive shaft seals under the pump. Is the cover that fits over the seals held in place by adhesive? Also I'm going to attempt to replace the seals without removing the housing. Is this a good idea or should I remove the housing?

    1997 Ocean Pro 225 HP - Corrosion

My brother is looking at a boat that has a 1997 225 HP Ocean Pro on it. The engine is pretty clean, compression is 100 - 110 psi and lower unit it good but there seams to be some corrosion build-up around the head gasket area. The boat was kept in the water so I assume it wasn't flushed after...

1997 200 HP SWSII - Stalls at ramp.

This is a carbed motor. Runs good at home. Go to put it in the water, starts fine, then sometimes it will stall. The last time it stalled several times, then ran okay and started okay for the trip home. I read about a test you can do for the fuel pumps but I can't find it. Something about...

    1994 225 Johnson Overheating

I just repowered my boat with a 1994 225 Johnson. At Idle the temp is around 160. Cruising at 4000-4500 RPM the temp climbs to 175. The PO said he recently changed the thermostats and water pump. I pulled the thermostats and they do appear relatively new. I checked them on the stove and they...

    OMC Binnacle Throttle installation instructions

I'm repowering with a 1994 225 Johnson and I'm also replacing the binnacle throttle control that the PO included. I'm not sure what hole to secure the throttle cable to on the binnacle control. There are two positions on the throttle crank. An inner and outer position. Does anyone know which I...

What is the the function of the vacuum switch with a hose that T's into the fuel line to the fuel pump? I was working on my engine today and snapped the plastic fitting where the hose connects to. Could I splice the wires to the switch off of my 1989 225? It dosen't have the same connector as...

    225 Johnson no spark

I have a 1989 225 Johnson. Several weeks ago I went to start it, long story a little shorter, pulled the harness plug, jumped the solenoid, still no spark. Fiddled with the neutral safety switch on the engine and it started. It started okay again at the ramp, then ran the engine for about an...

    225 RPM Jump

I have a 1989 225 HP Johnson that will jump in RPM from 4000 to 4500. It doesn't matter which direction I move the throttle. Either coming up or going down I cannot set the engine speed between those ranges.
