    gas flow

    My 71 4hp Johnson runs fine as long as the gas tank is held up so the gas can gravity feed. Please tell me why it runs out of gas when the tank is down below the motor. Thank you Jack

    I bought a model 42h9f chrysler outboard motor.

    The motor has been idle for years.I clean the tank the best I could,then refilled and adding some sta-Bil to it.I started it but I have to keep pulling the choke in and out to keep it running.Asking for some help from someone that have been working on motors longer than me. Thank you carleton

    Mercury to Johnson fuel tank.

    I changed the fitting to the Mercury tank to run my Johnson motor but I can't get it primed.When I squeeze the ball I can here air pushing from the motor end of hose.It is a old tank that I don't know if it is flawed.What can I do to correct this problem? carleton

    starting 1971 4hp Johnson

    I replaced the pull rope on the motor and I have a question. Does the prop turn on these old motors when the rope is pulled. It is so hard to pull I don't think the rope can hold up. Or am I missing something? Jack
