    Does a 1985 70hp evinrude vro have alarms for over heating, or lack of oil ? should there be a beep when you turn the ignition on ?

    1987 evinrude 70hp ELCOS, do these engines have a timing advance system ? If so how does it work and can it fail, working sometimes and not sometimes.. Bottom cylinder has 105 compression, has fuel and spark to the cylinder but makes no difference in the running of the engine when the plug wire...

    spark plug wires with 0 resistance

    tested my plug wires on my 70hp elcos . ohms resistance for all three wires are 2.0. tried two different multimeters, same reading..does this mean they are bad?

    engine misfiring

    i have a 1985 70hp evinrude 3cylinder motor on my boat. Having a hec of a time trying to fix intermittent missfire. runs between two and three cylinders in the 5mph zone. if you catch it on 3 you can get on a plane and go until it decides to run on two again, it then slows the boat to idle...
