Sorry, other than the photo shown earlier in the post, I do not have additional photos. They only parts I messed with is what is shown in the photo. There is a small metal disc (about 1/4"), on top of the disc there is a spring, then the retainer ring that I mentioned which is what I used seal...
Good news. I ended up using Seal All to seat the retaining washer and ran the boat for about an hour yesterday with no issues. Time will tell how long it lasts. Thanks for your advice!
I would keep the existing retaining ring under the washer so the original parts should function the same. My biggest concern was adding that washer interfering with the functionality. I'll give it a shot in the next few days and let you know how it goes. I appreciate your input very much!!!
I bought a 2 stroke pump and tried making it work, but I was not able to get a good seal . I'm pretty resourceful, so if I don't have parts, I'll find them. If I got a stainless washer that was a bit wider than the retainer clip (same inner diameter), and screwed that down to the plastic...
Yep! I see the disc in there. Wow, yeah that would have to be some really tiny holes. I'm scared I would mess it up if I started drilling holes then I'd really be screwed.
