    in need of operating instructions.

    i have a 1959 evinrude 18hp fastwin,but i cant get it to start,i beleive i need the operating instructions because the motor has a switches that i dont know how to adjust and they dont say antthing on them.it has fire and compression.

    keeps dieing in gear!

    the engine sounds nice in neutral but when i put it in gear it runs for about 3 seconds and dies out.the year is 1995 or 1996 the serial number is 0d976237 its a 3.3 mercury.also what hould the idol be set on? :confused:
