    overheating sounder

    Recently while using my Mercury 75 at low revs the overheating sounder started, due to being in a dangerous place I had to keep the engine running for about five minutes then I was able to clear the obstruction (weeds). The pee hole was working all the time . Is this likely to cause any damage...
