    OK Thanks Chris, If carb tuning doesn't help I'll probably try this. Ive been avoiding doing it because jeez, Crownline are nice boats but they have hellish motor access and the plugs are buried down in there.

    OK I think I'll take 'er out and try to adjust the carb hot and wet as a first step. You and my mechanic would get along, he kept telling me "its just an old Rochester 2 barrel" :)

    It does fantastic on the water other than a band of annoying ~200 RPM surging between about 1500-3000 RPM. No power issues at all.

    I might try to find a marina that could adjust it "hot and wet" since the problem doesn't show up on muffs. I might try it myself - I know enough to be dangerous but this TKS carb scares me a little bit. Do you think it could just be an adjustment problem or something you need to tear the carb...

    Thanks this might be the culprit if he didn’t get the carb on right when he rebuilt. Like I mentioned, it doesn’t happen on muffs so he wouldn’t have caught it. I’ll probably take it back to get checked if some other simple troubleshooting doesn’t work.
