    98'JOHNSON 200HP ALARMNG!

    WHAT WOULD CAUSE THE CONSTANT ALARM ON THE ENGINE? WHEN I START UP THE ENGINE IT STARTS THE ALARM BUT WHEN I PUMP UP THE FUEL BALL IS STOPS. WHILE THE BOAT IS UNDER WAY IS ALRIGHT BUT STARTS AGAIN AFTER IT'S BEEN IDLE FOR A LITTLE WHILE.

    jonhson 200hp,1998 =steady whistle soon after key is turned

    What could cause a steady whistle just after ignition is turned on? I just filled up the oil tank.<br />I also had to be towed when the engine would't start.<br />What should I check first to fix it?

    Which one would you buy?

    I'm replacing my 89 Johnson after lots of trouble.<br />A marine shop by me has a 96 Yamaha 200hp($6000 complete) and a 98 Johnson 200hp($5300 complete). Which one should I buy?

    Is it a good practice to run a 2 cycle outboard at WOT or at a lower RPM? At what RPM should I get the best fuel economy?

    If I replaced the total impellar and replaced both thermostats why do I still hear the alarm? Is it the senders or fuel restriction ? How do I check for the problem?

    ELECTRIC FIRE

    THE OTHER DAY MY 89 ,200 JOHNSON , DROPPED TO ALMOST IDLE AND STARTED TO SMOKE FROM THE ELECTRIC UNIT ON TOP JUST BEHIND THE FLY WHEEL. ON FURTHER INSPECTION I FOUND THE WIRES UNDER THE COVER HAD FRIED . WHAT IS IT AND WHAT CAN I DO? :confused:

    What could cause the water to come out the lower unit and not where its supposed to ? I have been having a problem with the overheat alarm, I have replaced the thermostats, impellor.At the end of last season I took out the thermstats and the water flow increased ,ran it wide open for 45 min...

    89 johnson waterpump

    I'm not sure if my message went through.<br /><br />There is more water coming out my lower unit than out the spigit on the engine compartment what could cause this, I just replaced the impellar.
