    85 25 merc wont stay in fwd

    how to id year with no ser #

    i just bought a used 25 hp merc got it home and realized ser # plate was missing. is there any other place its stamped on motor? also its suposed to be an 88 tiller control w/ option pf using console cable controls, is there anything to distinguish that year. thanks in advance.

    65, ev. 18.5hp wont run well with cover on

    I have an 1965 evinrude 18.5 fasttwin it will run with the motor cover on but barely. If I pull the cover off it runs great. I'm thinking one of two things 1. not enough air to carb.or 2. getting exhaust back into cover somehow. any help would be great thanks.

    75 mercury model 110 9.8h.p. increase horsepower

    I have heard that changing the carb or installing a kit will increase h.p.of a 1975 mercury model 110 from 9.8 h.p. to 15 h.p. is this true, and if so what parts/supplies do I need? also is this a good or bad idea? thanks
