I have a '94 (I think) omc 48spl. I cannot find a tilt lock/motor lockdown. The original manual tilt cylinder shaft is sheared. Is this what keeps the motor from rising while in reverse. I hope it isn't as it is 500 to replace. Thinking about drilling a hole through transom bracket and swivel...
