    I have tried doing compression check, its fine, I have checked all grounds with olm's meter-fine. i'm beginning to think it might be the stator if so how do you go about checking this?     I have a 1978 chysler 85hp, does anyone know how to set the timing on this particular motor? I installed a new shaft and distributor and the timing is off. I think I have it pretty close I would like to make sure, if anyone can help i sure would be greatful. Thanks!

    changed lower unit, won't go in reverse
