Thank you very much for the prompt reply. You are indeed correct re. the Model number. We dont have a Johnson/Evinrude (Now Bombardier) shop in this region. I would indeed appreciate some close up photos of the tilt & lock mechanism. It would help a great deal to see some clear close up images...
Further to my earlier post today the attacched photo is of two parts recovered
following the accidental damage to the shallow water/tilt mechanism. Although it look like one part in the photo there are two parts one of which is bent out of its original straight profile.

The shallow drive/Tilt system has been accidently damaged and parts lost at sea.
Here in Ireland it is not easy to find parts for an old engine.
After studying the mid mid-section diagram on boats.net I am still lost as to what parts to order.
I would much appreciate if anyone can offer advice...
I understand that, and I continued to use it on Friday last after the mishap. The probelm I had was that when going into possible shallow water I could not engage shallow water running and when taking the boat out of the water I could not tilt the engine up fully to avoid any possible contact...
