    I just bought this 17 ft with a 70 hp ,the motor does not have trim,can i use any trim or does it have to be for johnson/evinrude ,it looks like a basic 2 bolt ,2 wire.

    i am switching back to electric choke ,there was a newer set up ,turn key start that is not working ,what 2 wires go to my older carb.that works good, i started the engine and ran it 15 min. to warm up ,runs great, no stalling idle is ok, do i need to hook up wires to the choke,if so which 2...

    pre alpha shaft size,1980s,what size prop nut.

    what size prop nut is used on a 1980s pre alpha lower,i went from a 1990 lower drive to a older pre alpha drive the prop nut is to small i think im looking for a 7/8 i can not locate one.

    1990 alpha lower/swap for 1983 lower

    i have a 1990 alpha ,my lower is junk,i went to look at a 1983 that is in good cond,will this match up with my upper,i was looking for sn.numbers on the 1983 we could not locate any,also mine is a 4.3,i belive the 1983 is from a v8 i know my ratio is 1.81.

    fuel gauge issue

    i have 1990 maxum,ok the gauge works i had it tested,i am getting power from the sending unit,where do i look from here,i looked under the dash where all the wires are ,not sure what to check from here,there are a few blue wires that are taped up.thanks

    1990 maxum soft spots on floor

    i am doing a repower 1990 4.3 v6,i bough a long block from rapido,what is involved in going to fresh water cooled,i run mostly in salt water,it rots everything,i am useing many new parts to build this engine,is it poss.to go to fresh water cooled,dollar wise......

    4.3 therm.houseing old style

    i am doing a repower chevy 4.3 v6 1990 -merc does not make an old style therm. houseing for these yrs,i found one it comes in 2 parts,the problem is it sits up to high so the fuel line hits the houseing,are there any other houseings i can use that sit flush to the intake.

    i am in the process of doing a reman job,4.3 chevy v6, i would like to convert ,to serpentine,belt,instead of haveing the 2 belts,what do i need to change,pullys ect,what parts will i need,other than just the belt.

    i purchaced a new edelbroock,2111 in take that im going to match up with a withanew 4 barrel carb,what therm.houseing can i use,4.3 v6 chevy,the houseing is a 45 dergee angle i seen one from mich.motors for omc will this work.

    in take manifold 4.3

    can i use a chevy 4.3 ,intake manifold from a chevy blazer on a reman 4.3.1990 v6,they no longer make 12 bolt intakes,for these remans in these yrs,thats the problem that people will have when they buy a reman in earley yrs,its all vortec now,i can find plenty of gm intakes for chevy trucks-suvs...

    alpha one gear ratio

    i have a 1990 4.3 mercrusier alpha one i was checking out sei i see they have different gear ratios which one will match i see on sei chart it has 184/181 i think its 181 whats the difference.
