Hi. Was hoping to get some answers concerning my boat motor. I tried last summer to get the motor running properly. Turned over and would fire (had the ear muffs on the bottom end and a hose connected), but had carb issues. I recently moved about 900 miles away and supported the motor with a...
Hello. I have a 90hp Mercury motor on a 16 ft fiberglass boat that I want to haul 800 miles to a new location. I have the motor lifted for trailering and the trailering manual 'tabs' in the locked position. however, I'm a little nervous about the stress on the transom, especially since I just...
Hey there boat guys. I'm baffled. I have rebuilt all three carbs, installing new floats (with new springs), new seats, and new seat plugs. With the muffs on in the yard the motor seems to run great. As soon as I get it on the water and hittin' a few waves one carb (at least) will invariably...
Hi y'all. Having some problems with my carbs. Floats seem to be sticking and flooding my 1 and 3 carbs. I have pulled the tops off of each and when I immerse the float in the gas in the bowl they both rise, so the floats seem to be fine. The valves in each toggle easily up and down on each...
Started to glass the underside of the deck wood today. I'm using 1.5 oz. CSM and on an area roughly calculated at 1.8 square yards, 3/4's of a gallon of resin was used. I did read the sticky on fiberglass before hand and it says 4.2 square yards per gallon. I realize that that amount of resin...
I intend to apply resin and CSM to the top side of the deck once it's laid in the boat. Was wondering if the underside of the plywood needs a coat of resin before laying the plywood in the boat.
If I don't use marine grade plywood for the floor, would treated be ok, or another cheaper and readily accessible plywood? (marine grade plywood is 2 weeks away) I intend to coat the underside of the plywood with resin before I lay it out.
Hello. From what I've been reading there is a wealth of knowledge out there I'd like to tap into. I have a 1970 Winner boat in need of transom repair. Is it possible to remove the top half of the boat from the bottom to allow easier transom repair? Doing this seems feasible (looks like...
