Hi all, I have just purchased an old 3.8 Markham whaler and am going to upgrade the motor. This mainly due to someone fitting a 55 mariner when the boats only rated to 40hp max.
Does anyone have these ? any issues so far? pro a cons I should be aware of ?

I have a 19?? Mariner 55 Marathon and am trying to find its vintage and weight.
The plate has W55ML, serial # 663 L 594432 made in japan.
It is also a 2cyl twin carb model.
Any help from the Guru's here will be greatly appriciated.
