Duraglas vs Peanut butter for balsa core repair

I am in the process of rebuilding the sole of my glass bass boat and after ALOT of grinding and rotten core removal have progressed to the replacement of the Balsa core. My question is: is there any advantage to using duraglas or a similar product as opposed to using a USC 435 peanut butter mix...

Purely Hypothetical- Balsa cored hull question

After working for the winter on my rotten balsa cored hull, this idea has been presented: Could you remove all of the balsa core from the hull, increase the hull thickness with 1708 or CSM, and then add stringers and bulkheads where there were none before? I realize a possible increase in...

    1975 Ranger 150 Restoration

Re: 1975 Ranger 150 Restoration looks like a great deal with that motor- hull looks very familiar (same as my kingfisher, probably the same mold) - just check it out very carefully- this is what i found under that same aluminum plate repair- i am now in the process of a complete transom...

1978 Kingfisher 170 Transom overhaul (first one)

Re: 1978 Kingfisher 170 Transom overhaul (first one) well, got a little surprise today and hope it doesn't 'sink' the project... some of the measurements didn't jive and i after digging around on the back of the hull, found this- (looking down on the bilge area) looks like a Balsa core that...

1978 Kingfisher 170 Transom overhaul (first one)

Re: 1978 Kingfisher 170 Transom overhaul (first one) cap off- fun has started cutting out floor and removing wet foam. looks like foam was sprayed in, and this hull only has a center stringer. foam boxes (?) at the front and back look like the foam was sprayed in, shaved or cut to size, and...
