    Johnson / Evinrude identity crisis?

    I have a 25hp 1975 Johnson...or maybe it's an Evinrude. I was quite happy thinking that Evinrude / Johnson - same thing, no issues - until I saw that the parts for them are different. My motor has a great big "Johnson" on the cowl, but the plate on the side (with the S/N) says "made by Evinrude"...

    JOhnson 25hp 1975, oil leak?

    I just ran my motor up for the first time since I bought it, ran nicely, but I think it needs a new impeller, so I didn't run it for long. I placed it on the stand and the following morning I noticed that there was a small circle of oil under it, about 4 inches round. Excuse my ignorance, but...

    Johnson 25hp 1975

    I've just bought a 1975 Johnson 25hp outboard, serial: 25502B. It came with a tiller and I don't seem to be able to find any info on how to convert it to remote control...and if it can, how much of it can be converted. It's currently a pull-start only. Can anyone shed any light on this?
