Rebuilt two bravo transoms and put two new engines in and alignment is horrible. I used the new merc permalube gimbal bearings and i didn't put the dot at 12 oclock, could that be causing the issue? I placed the slots of the bearing facing away from the drives towards the engines. thanks
I just got a project boat in which most of the senders were in rough shape so i'm pricing replacements. only issue is the boat seemed to come with duel station senders when its a one station boat. So would going with single stations senders mess with accuracy of the current gauges currently...
Just got a new project boat with twin bravo 3's and when I looked in the steering lever hole/transom cutout and seen mounds of rust and debris (on both drives). Is there any possible culprit besides a bad steering pin seal? I?m asking because there is absolutely no play in either ring side to...
Ok From what i understand, linking one full battery to one discharged batter using a standard batter dial will cause the full battery to discharge a large amount of energy to the dead batter and damage it over time. Now i know an isolator will stop one battery from discharging another battery...
Hello I’m in the process of negotiating a price for a bank owned boat. what worries me is one of the drives has severely torn u joint bellows, to the point where i don't believe the boat would be able to stay afloat. Is it possible if water flooded the u joint area it would pass the seals...
Hey everyone got into boating a few years back and got accustomed to using my trailer to bring the boat home for maintenance and mechanical problems. So now it's time to upgraded and the boat I'm in the process of purchasing and having shipped weighs 11 thousand pounds and was wondering how if...
just seen a boat for sale that wasn't stored improperly and the front cabin was flooded for at least this winter (about 3 or 4 inches) if not the one before since its been in storage for two year, they covered it with blue tarps with the bow down. now the cabin has mold from floor to ceiling...

Well i have mercuiser 228 79" and was having carb peculation problems so i put an intake without the heat passages and put an electric choke, now im having really bad idle problems that seem like ignition timing problems (put a light on it and got it adjusted to spec). I kinda forgot to add...
Im putting new gaskets on the intake of my 228 (chevy 305) and was wondering where to find a plug to block off the exhaust crossover port that only helps overheat my engine. Im also upgrading the choke to an electric style so it shouldn't effect it. thanks
So i went to check on the boat in storage and i guess their was a leak in the shrink wrap and now my bilge is filled with ice up to about 3 or inches below the engine mounts, cause the drain plug wasn't pulled, which is probably my fault i should have checked it after he was done. Its a 1980...
Just wondering what kind of build quality to expect with a 31ft celebrity 310 i found one going for 21k with a trailer and was wondering if it was worth looking at. Im already going to look at a 1996 searay 290 just wanted options since im driving 4 hours lol.
So i finally got my engine running rite on my 1977 searay 220 with a mercruiser 228 with the proper operating temps registering on the dash temp gauge after fixing and ignition timing issue. The only problem if it is one now is the exhaust crossover passage going through my intake gets extremely...
ive been trouble shooting a heating problem that required the drive to come off a few times but now when i install the drive the idle gets inconstant and rough and dies out. This wasn't an issue a few days ago, it only happend when i took off the upped unit and reinstalled the other day. i...
Well i have a late 70's quadrajet which had a gasket leak on the base gasket which when i removed noticed was just a gasket meant to be used inside the carb it self which the last owner just threw on the bottom instead of buying the two dollar gasket. So when i installed the proper gasket the...
