    Mariner tilt question

When I try to raise my outboard with the rocker "up" switch on my control unit, it comes up about 1/4 of the way steady but slowly, seems to stall and stick for about 4 seconds, and then rises rapidly. It was, according to the prior owner, always this way. I can see a reason for this, as it...

    Mariner shop manual

Anybody want to suggest the best shop manual for a 1992 3 cyl. 90hp mariner outboard? and where to get it? I did the search on the iboat mall page and get 3 or 4 "correct" hits. Is there a difference between a shop manual and and a tuneup and repair manual??

    calling all prop experts.

So I have a 20" motor I want to mount on a 25" transom. I could perform some relatively minor surgery ( as transom work goes) and trim down the transom to bring the cavitation plate level with the bottom of the boat. I've checked the air intakes, backwash, etc.. and don't think I have problems...

    Want to keep my Johnson

I just ripped the transom out of an old family boat, and rather than repair it (its real old) I got a nice deal on a 18' bayliner hull, no motor. The bayliner takes a 25" motor. I really liked the old 85 Johnson on my old boat, runs great, but its a 20" motor. Can I use a 20" motor on the...
