Do not want to have to sand my hull every year

So long story short, bought boat, was heavily oxidized, wet sanded and polish and waxed, looked great, then last year, had to do the black stripe down the middle of the hull because it oxidized again, do not want to keep wet sanding as it will leave me no gel coat. The red under the rub rail...

Changed my gear lube but noticed the new stuff was not green, checked the bottle and saw it was not synthetic like what I had in it before, and only rated for 75 Hp! Stupid me grabed the wrong stuff! So questions: Is it ok to leave in for the winter? Will I have a problem in the spring if I...

1988 Liberator with OMC RPM and Prop question

1988 Liberator with OMC RPM and Prop question I have a 1988 OMC Cobra Drive, 350 Chevrolet. It Idles fine and the tach reads 800-1000 RPM's. At 35 MPH at plane it reads 4000 RPMS, but at WOT it Reads 5900 RPM's at 52 MPH. That tells me I should run a 25 pitch prop not the SS 21 I have now...

    Shift cable affecting trim sender?

1988 Cobra 350....When I shift into gears sometimes it is hard to move lever forward, and when it is, the trim guage will move up and down as I attempt to shift. If I do not have this problem and shifts normally, the trim guage does not move. So I pulled the boat out of the water, and there is a...

First sea trail Tach RPM"S read 8000+!

As you may or may not know, have been restoring my 1988 Liberator Cobra 800 5.7. Had to replace the gauges. When we took it out this weekend, at WOT the tach reads 8000 or pegged! It does not appear to actually be 8000 rpms, I have been in many boats and it sounds like it is running fine. What...

So I have removed the sun-deck to put in new hinges. The hinges call for 12 screws each, 6 into the sun-deck, 6 to the boat its self. The previous owner kept drilling and adding more screws instead of fixing it right. I am going to use marine tex to fill the holes on the boat, but need advise...
