I need to get down to the points and don't want to use the wrong bolt thread. And damage the starter

could somone help me out i would like to draw 12v power from my outboard for charging purposes only and i would like to find out the year of my engine i cant seem to find anything with my serial number

hi everyone im hoping some of you can help me with some information
i have recently picked up an evinrude big twin 40 i belive its a 1968 model model no 40803s and serial no C576794
this engine appears to be in new condition i don't think it has ever seen the water as there are still packaging...
can any one give me any help on changing the impeller on my mariner 8 2 stroke
1 do i put it in forward before droping the leg
2 anything i should be wary about
