Alright, replaced key switch found out it was not bad. I think it is something with the ground wires from installing new powerhead. Again boat starts but dies when key is released. Are there any grounds wires that may cause this if they are not grounded on the right part of the block/powerhead...
Reinstalled lower unit on 97 force 40 after overhual. Impeller was fine now not working at all. How does impeller need to look or be installed correctly if no problems?!
97 force 40 that will start but when key is released the motor dies. Is this an ignition problem or motor problem. TURN KEY MOTOR RUNS PERFECT RELEASE KEY IT DIES???

Just Got a brand new powerhead and have replaced. Starts fine but "only" starts in forward which is very exciting. I think the shift rod / linkage is off. What position should square rod be in when I connect the shift cable! :confused: Also power trim is not operating, there is a red wire...
