    Stator

    anyone know of a way to check and see if the Stator is the cause of the Switchbox overheating and shutting down the engine. 60 hp Mercury, 1988 model

    Starting/running engine

    I have a 1988 60 hp Mercury 3 cyl outboard that will run about 20 to 25 minutes then just quit running as if the key was turned off. It will not start back up until it has sat and cooled.
