    charging system

    I have a 1979 115hp outboard, how can I tell if it is charging the battery? I have put a volt meter on the battery at a fast idle and it reads 12.5 to 13 volts. If this is not enough what do I check? I have a new battery but it seems to drain fast with nothing running when I use the boat. Thanks

    no reverse

    Have a 85hp merc that will not go into reverse. Started last year when reverse was engaged it clicked like normal for a while and gradually got worse. this year it just makes the clicking noise and will not engage. The motor or lower unit has never been apart. any ideas?

    hard starting 115hp mercury

    I have a 1979 115hp mercury outboard that is hard to start. If it sets for a day I have to pump gas in the carbs with a oil can. The choke works, the primer bulb works, I can here gas being pumped into the carbs. Plugs have been changed. Once the motor is started it runs great for the whole day...
