    Prop depth on Evinrude 7.5hp

    I did some searching and came to the conclusion that the plate just above the prop should be even with the bottom of my 14 ft flat bottom. Running a '56 evinrude fleetwin. Is this correct?

    Should motor rev as high in gear vs. neutral?

    I got mt 56 evinrude fleetwin 7.5hp running good now. I guess I just dont know if its running at full speed or not...it revs alot higher rpms in neutral than it does in forward gear. My question is should you be able to run those higher rpms in gear?
