I used my finger to check around the seal. Yes, it is one single double lip seal, but looks like it is stuck inside the bottom groove, and there is nothing between this seal and the drive or wheel bearing cup. The manual says use proper tool to punch it off from bottom of Upper unit.

Oh, thanks for clarification. Seems not too difficult to me to open the Upper unit.
But....... I don't have manual or torque table.
Anywhere I can find this information? Does Mercury dealer shop sell the manual?

200ft-lb for drive cover nut? Is this the one to use spanner wrench?
If this is the torque spec for the spanner wrench, then I only got standard torque wrench. Not sure how that will work out on spanner wrench.
Other wise if 200tf-lb goes to the top 4 nuts...

I figured my Alpha one Gen 2 upper unit need to replace its oil seal.
I already pulled out my drive and separated Upper unit and Lower unit.
So far so good.
Looks like I need to get a spanner wrench to loos the drive retainer lug nut.
I ordered the wrench and should be able to get it...
