    How to tighten up throttle control lever?

    I have a 1997 50hp mercury with the side controls. There is a lot of play in the throttle/position lever. I can move the lever about an inch before it gives and lets off the gas. How can I tighten the lever up to have better control of the gas? It is a Quicksilver control.
