Thanks guys. I planned to remove the cap on Monday if it started surging but it never did. When I removed the gas cap after Monday's run the amount of air sucked in was much less than before. I guess I have to use a lot more fuel...

Just picked up a 2003 Glastron GX185 with a 4.3 Volvo Penta.
Literally just backed it into my driveway an hour ago.
