    I loosened the bolt and it worked Tension spring must be broken because it will not stay up but it is usable THANK YOU

    yes that does not work I know on my Mercury it has to be in forward to tilt Any other suggestions Thanx

    I just bought a 1982 7.5 Johnson and it is locked in the down position I turned the black lever but it still will not release The lever seems to work Help please

    I can not unlock tilt It is locked in the down position I have tried toggle switch It seems to work but will not release unit
