Looking for a new motor for my boat which currently has a mercury black max 200 which has lots of corrosion.
I just came upon a Yamaha Pro-V 200
Are these motors any good? Fuel consumption? Has 130 compression on each cylinder according to the seller. Here's a picture...
Yesterday I installed a used gauge set on my boat. All of them work except for the Water PSI and the Fuel Gauge.
Before installing this set the old set water psi used to work just fine. Now the needle starts at 30PSI and when i give it some gas it moves but moves towards 0 psi. I would like it...
Ok, right now I own a Mercury blackmax from 96' which is 200hp and is mounted on a 23' wellcraft excel walkaround.
I took it recently to a mechanic and he said the motor is good and the compression is still good but it could break off the boat at any time. It has a broken pivot, after...
I'm having problems with a couple of my gauges.
1.My fuel gauge is always on empty unless I reach half tank.
2. My tach is stuck on 6000RPM's even when turned off.
3. My trim gauge is not working at all.
Any help on where to start and if they need replacing I'd like to replace all of them...
I'm having problems with my blackmax when on neutral it quits on me and shuts down. RPM's sound low and my tach is broken so the RPM's should be the problem.
Where is the idle screw on these motors? I haven't checked yet but once I go next weekend to the boat I want to try and up the RPM's...
I own a 23' wellcraft excel OB WA boat.
The trim tabs pump is broken since the day I bought it which was in may but have never payed attention to it since I haven't need it till now.
Waves are getting bigger and I'd like the boat to take waves directly.
How do I know which pump I have to buy...
Research done and looked at a couple. the third one was this one and I thought this one was the one.
It's the one I ended up with :)
Wellcraft excel from 96, 23'
No problems so far, other than changing rust parts and giving it a good clean.
Having this problem since I bought the boat.
It's a 200HP Mercury from 96.
When I put the motor on neutral it turns off. If I give it a little gas it works fine. Only dies when no gas is applied.
What should I check first?
Thanks
Could not find much info but can I use my car GPS for my boat? I don't believe so but before I buy a marine one I thought I would ask to be sure
Thanks
So I ended up with a 23' wellcraft excel since I got a good deal on it.
I have a baby girl with only 2 years of age and would love to have air conditioning on the cabin for her naps.
Any choices for portable air conditioners? There is one that goes on the hatch but it looks bulky and big to...

I'm going to go see a 22' bayliner tomorrow.
It's from 1988, the person has to leave to USA and is selling all his rigs.
Has a 125HP Evinrude and trailer.
What should I look for? How do I find soft spot? What about the motor, what should I look at when he starts it?
Thanks!
