    Wide open, but feels likes half throttle

    I recently bought a 2001 25HP Johnson J25TVL3SIE. It wouldn't idle unless the choke was pulled out halfway. Seemed good a WOT (when I water tested it).     Gear Oil

    I want to change the gear oil in a 25 hp johnson, i just bought. The manual calls for OMC Ultra-HPF or OMC Hi-Vis gear case oil. So my question is, can I not just use marine grade EP90 gear oil? What's the difference?
