Have a 1990 Bayliner 2255 I pulled the Y pipe off the Gimbal housing and examined the transom where it meets the plate and found that the port side is Solid and the starboard side has some rot. I did the Hammer test on the out side of the boat when i first looked at it and it sounded good. But...
Got a great deal on a SSV 175 and trailer. Engine was in rough shape and in the wrong spot. Plan to have it back in the water by August and do a complete rehab over the winter.
